Take geometry, for example. I can’t think of a single instance in the last five years where I used any concepts from geometry.
This feels a little lazy, though.
Every time you read about a “flat earther” and the instinctive reaction “that’s clearly batsh1t” bubbles up in your mind, that’s some embedded understanding of geometry applied to make a (correct) critical judgement.
That said, there are no doubt plenty of highly questionable curriculum items in many countries and subjects.
I wouldn’t like to be the one weeding those out, though ;)
