PSA: Dell Xps 9360 bios 1.2.5 may break dual boot
No proof, but circumstantial evidence drops heavy hints…
After SPECTRE and friends, there was a round of updates, including the 1.2.5 BIOS.
These seemed harmless/unavoidable enough, so I duly updated.
And found I could no longer dual boot.
Recently, shutting down the machine from Windows seems to trigger a popup from the system claiming the HDD cannot be found. Powering off, then rebooting seems to indicate the machine is fine.
Under 1.2.5 however the Grub menu is gone.
I can’t prove it, but beware of this update.
