Look, I hate the othering of the “citizen of nowhere” sentiment as much as anyone, but let’s back up two paragraphs: multiple governments, not nowhere all issued those visas and passports. I just think it’s too facile to let this stuff slide or rely on a fallback “it’s OK: I have family overseas”. Point 1: some people don’t have that option. Point 2: in common with many Londoners, I want to make the best of it where I am, which means for my benefit and the benefit of my community.
I just personally feel I don’t want to let it slide and let Theresa off the hook, because she does not have a mandate to behave promote this agenda.
