The title and conclusion could be a little less click-baity, though.

As you point out, the Cons are importing the “American model" and by that I mean the GOP model.

Their modus operandi will always be to deflect and distract, so while people are but stupid, and can feel the pain, they can’t quite identify the location and origin of the wound.

The victims of that great long psychological warfare operation are the poor, who the Cons themselves don’t deem are “worth saving".

I would suggest that you’ve identified that the scheme has worked, but can we blame the victims?
